Students,

We will complete our library research this morning.  Upon our return, sit in your states’ groups.  You need to discuss the information you have found and ideas you have for how to organize it for your presentation.  Also begin brainstorming ideas for a product that involves technology.

You must submit a proposal for my approval today.  Your proposal should list:

Your State

Your group members initials and attendance #’s

Your ideas for your presentation

Your ideas for your product

A proposal is a workin progress.  It can be changed as you begin working on your presentation and product.  All changes should be approved through me.  Please read over your proposal for spelling and punctuation errors before you click, “Say It!”

Type up your proposal on the blog and submit to me today by the assigned time.

One more thing, on the homework for tonight, can we actually cut out the shapes at the bottom of the paper if we need help? I know on the directions say ‘cut out the shapes at the bottom of this page to help you’ but I want to know if it’s okay with you. Because when you see that the bottom part of my paper is missing that means I cut out the shapes. So is it okay to cut out the shapes?

Hey we’re not completley finish but WE think that we have enough information to make a powerpoint.so what do you say Mrs. Bizzell?
:)

5. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

CG7: I gave instructions about cutting those shapes out in class. It wouldn’t be in the instructions if it wasn’t ok to cut it out.

6. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

Alabama:
Your directions specifically stated to list your initials and attendance #’s–not your names.

You must be specific in your proposal. Saying, “pretty much everything” is not specific enough. I need to know exactly what you are going to cover in your presentation and how you will do it. Also, look back over your proposal. I see tons of spelling mistakes. If this were the show, I would say, “You are fired!”

7. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

JB 2, JB3 and LL11:
Is this your proposal? If so, please look at the directions again and follow them carefully. I know nothing about your information or your presentation from this submission. This does not qualify as a proposal. Revise and try again.

STATE:Arkansas, GROUP:4 JB2, LL11, and JB3, IDEA:Powerpoint,
Is this better Mrs. Bizzell?
:(

11. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

Missouri: You are off to a great start. Be sure to capitalize and correctly spell your state name. That won’t look good to the Historical Organization if you haven’t even spelled the state’s name correctly!

12. Lj9 bm12 ks19 - October 5, 2006

North Carolina

We will present our information using a slide show.
It will involve the state capital , the state’s history
, the economic time line , and the landmarks.
Also the state’s quater and the state’s population.
:) :):):):):):):):)

13. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

Idaho:
Wow! Thanks for spending some time on this. You have some good information to begin with. Remember in your presentation, you don’t want to just list facts. You want to convince and persuade the Historical Organization to pick your state for their conference because of its wonderful history.

All Groups:
Most groups are doing power points. I hope you will all work to make your power point unique and different from the other groups.

14. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

Arkansas: That’s better. Look at the detail of most of the other proposals. I’m looking for more information from you.

North Carolina: Thanks. Good start. One question: What’s a quater?

15. mrsbizzell - October 5, 2006

All groups: One mistake many people make, even adults, in presentations where they use power points is to simply read the power point word for word to the audience. Your audience can read. Do not bore them. You can refer to the information in your power point, but don’t read it word for word. Think of what else you can do in your presentation to “hook” the audience. Get them interested and excited about coming to your state.
